Safety and Scientific Integrity Policies:

Grade Policy:
There wioll be four tests and a final examination. Contact your instructor for section specific information (room location, start time). All sections will take a common final examination prepared by the American Chemical Society Examination Institute. A study guide for the exam can be purchased directly from the Exam Institute website. The ACS final exam has 70 multiple choice questions with a 110 minute time limit. Your final exam grade is based on the total number of correct answers. There is no penalty for guessing. The grade will be scaled as it is a standardized test. Thus, you do not need to get all questions correct in order to make a 100. The Chem 232 examination covers the year-long introductory organic course, including lecture and laboratory. Simply passing or doing well on the final examination is not sufficient to earn a passing grade in the course. Consult your individual instructor for details on how the course grade is determined.
Grade Scale:
Contact your instructor for the specific grade scale to be used in your section. One grade scale that can be used for this course is: 100-93 (A); 92-90 (A-); 89-87 (B+); 86-83 (B); 82-80 (B-); 79-77 (C+); 76-73 (C); 72-70 (C-); 69-67 (D+); 66-63 (D); 62-60 (D-); 59-0 (F)
