Scigress

If you want to download Scigress, the Computational Chemistry program sold by Fujitsu, then follow the directions listed below. The Chemistry Department purchased a one year site license for use of the software by all students, faculty and staff at the College of Charleston.

Scigress is designed to work with Intel®-based Pentium® computers running Windows® XP or Windows® Vista.
Your monitor must have a display area of at least 800 by 600 pixels capable of displaying 256 colors. Using 32,768 colors or more is recommended so that all colors are displayed in the Sequence View. You will need a minimum of 128 MB of RAM. You may find more memory useful in speeding up some Scigress processes. If you work with large molecules containing thousands of atoms, you will need 512 MB to avoid frequent disk accesses that would slow the calculation dramatically and you will need a 2.0 GHz Pentium processor for fast execution. If you are installing the ActiveSite addon 256 MB of RAM is a suggested minimum. The minimum hard disk space required by each of the Scigress products is shown below. We recommend that you have at least 10 MB more space available in addition to the minimum. Scigress Standard 33 MB; Scigress Professional 50 MB; Scigress Ultra 72 MB.

Click here to save (or copy) the Sigress installation zip file to your own computer. After you have copied the zip file to your PC, unzip the file, and execute the setup file.

Consult the administrative assistant in the Chemistry Department main office to obtain a copy of the Scigress license file (valid until Oct 15, 2009). You will be prompted for the directory on your computer that contains the Sigress license key during the installtion. For help installing or using Scigress contact R Heldrich.
