Spring 2009 Chemistry 231 Labs start on Tuesday, January 20th.

This is the departmental site for information about the introductory organic chemistry laboratory. This laboratory course is to be taken concurrently with the first semester introductory organic chemistry lecture course. The Chem 231 lecture is a corequisite or pre-requisite to this course.
This course should be both fun and informative. The course is designed to illustrate principles and concepts from the lecture, to give you hands on experience with laboratory techniques common to an organic chemist, and to introduce you to the ways in which chemists characterize and identify organic compounds.

These include a electronic lecture guide / text book (MSU OnLine), an alternative for spectroscopic instruction (Spectroscopy@UCLA), a site for general hints about organic lab (Organic Portal, Demystified), and a link for searching the web (Google). You can find a plethora of sample tests from other schools by using a Google search.At the bottom of each page are links to relevant web sites at the College of Charleston.If you would like to see other content on this site, please tell your instructor.
